SMART GRID

One of the major challenges facing facilities, energy suppliers, project developers, in the transformation of the electricity network is the interoperability of communications with renewable resources (solar, wind), storage, electric vehicles and more generally all the equipment constituting the Smart grid.

These resources are becoming an essential part of the modern electrical system and the only way to extend their integration is through the adoption and implementation of standardized communications and products. This is where the testing tools developed by our partner QualityLogic come in, especially if you want to export your products to the USA or Australia.

IEEE 2030.5 Test Tool

QualityLogic has developed the first IEEE 2030.5 test tools and test services for all Smart grid players (EPCs, project developers, energy suppliers, manufacturers, utilities, etc.) to guarantee interoperability and compliance with the specification.

QualityLogic's IEEE 2030.5 test system provides both a protocol conformance test system (Functional Test Suite or FTS) and an interoperability test system (Ad Hoc) for IEEE 2030.5 clients and servers.

These IEEE 2030.5 test tools are an ideal solution for all Smart grid players who are looking to test Smart Energy functions, including distributed energy resources (DER), demand response, pricing, metering, messaging, energy flow reservation and associated IEEE 2030.5 function and resource sets. The tools also offer test coverage for the SAE J3072 communication profile, which supports IEEE 1547-based vehicle-to-grid (V2G) functions between the charging infrastructure (EVSE) and the electric vehicle (EV).

IEEE 1547.1 Test Tool

With the approval and adoption of the IEEE 1547.1-2020 standard, the inverter industry now has the opportunity to standardize its communication interactions with grid operators. QualityLogic leveraged its experience and know-how with IEEE 2030.5 standard to develop the IEEE 1547.1 interoperability test tool, which also integrates the SunSpec Modbus and DNP3 protocols.

Using the SCPI interface, QualityLogic IEEE 1547.1 test tools feature a comprehensive device management module that automatically defines equipment starts and manages equipment parameters and data capture for each interoperability and type test defined in UL 1741 SB. All equipment control is "ready-to-use” for supported equipment: no scripting is required.

By standardizing the management of inverter test equipment and automating a large part of the test process, these QualityLogic tools provide a leap forward in testing efficiency and quality, and significant time savings can be achieved to get your products to market faster.

CCS ANALYZER

QualityLogic’s Combined Charging System (CCS) Analyzer is a new class of tool for analysis of Combined Charging System (CCS) traffic between the EV and the EVSE. The CCS Analyzer is an “expert system” that improves productivity of human experts by automating the analyses the session traffic to identify anomalies that cause failed charging sessions, extract timing data from the files and uncover non-fatal anomalies that may cause future issues.
